Amity Ruth Shlaes (/les/; born September 10, 1960) is an American author and newspaper and magazine columnist. Shlaes writes about politics and economics from a US libertarian perspective. Shlaes has authored four books and currently chairs the board of trustees of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation.
